Working on a story about GPB’s upcoming doc about Margaret Mitchell (in honor of the 75th anniversary of “Gone With the Wind”) and apparently this dance by Valentino was the inspiration for Mitchell’s infamous 1921 debutante ball performance that garnered two scandalous newspaper stories, made her the talk of Atlanta, and got her snubbed by the Junior League.
The film, “Margaret Mitchell: American Rebel” airs at 8 and 9 p.m. on Thursday, June 30 on GPB.
