(of note, my favorite thing about Kevin Barnes is that he’s said — and I’m paraphrasing here, so it was something along the lines of — he wished he was gay but he isn’t. It’s kind of funny at first, but when you think about the deeper meaning of this, and that it’s something that couldn’t have been uttered in public even a few decades ago — as in, who would ever wish to be gay and have to deal with all the homophobia and gay-bashing that once came with it — it says a ton.)
