Rowlett at Ciné
As I made my way from the Ciné entrance to our jam session in the Ciné Lab last night, my eye was drawn to newly-hung paintings on the walls of the entrance corridor. To my unschooled eye, the technical skill of the artist seemed exceptional to me, and the juxtaposition of visual elements transfixing. The works begged to be decoded, and the messages within — some of them yielding their content more easily than others — seemed by turns profound and whimsical. The artist, it turns out, is Terry Rowlett, and he has a strong Athens connection. You ought to drop by Ciné for a look at the works.
