(“The Wrecking Crew” trailer)

Oh man, to have this on an iPod playlist

It’s the song list from the documentary “The Wrecking Crew” from Denny Tedesco — detailing the history and careers of his legendary dad, Tommy Tedesco and his fellow L.A.-based session musicians of the 1960s. The opening credits are cleverly delivered to the backdrop of a barrage of enticing pop song snippets scrolled across a ’60s-era radio dial. And the tunes are the kind that make you fall in love with music all over again.

Though their careers remained decidedly out of the spotlight, these are the people who have helped bring some of the most loved and memorable songs of all time to our ears. My DVD screener sadly had some kind of glitch and I only saw about a quarter of the film — but even so, I’d want to see it on the big screen with Ciné’s kickass soundsystem. And as an added bonus, Tedesco will be in attendance Friday and Saturday, though screenings continue through July 2. (The film is part of Ciné’s nod to AthFest with its annual Rock Docs.)

The Wrecking Crew” — 98 min. Not rated. Ciné: 6 and 8 p.m. Friday-Monday; 6 p.m. Tuesday-June 28 and 8 and 10 p.m. June 29-July 2.
